For my very first post I'm going to share one of my latest makes. I stumbled across this chandelier on Tesco's website. Thinking it would be fab for my girls room and not having the budget that would stretch to buy it, I set about trying to create something similar with slightly less pennies. I also thought it would be too long to hang from their ceiling, so decided to hunt for something I could upcycle.

I managed to find this rather drab chandelier style light fitting on a Facebook selling page, for the grand sum of £3!! I love a bargain!! (please excuse the table, that's a project for another day...)

I then decided that I was going to spray paint the whole thing pink. I also decided that I wanted to have lots of faceted beads to shimmer in the light, I found these quite cheap on eBay. I chose both acrylic and glass in a variety of colours. I also have a fresh shabbychic theme that I want to run in their room, so I also wanted some 'ditsy/flowery' beads and some pearls thrown in there as well. A friend also gave me some tear drop acrylic Christmas decs and a wedding cake decoration that have also been thrown in for good measure.

I Started by priming the light fitting and then applied a few layers of the pink spray paint. I also decided to incorporate some decoupage on the ceiling rose and then moved on the working out how I was going to arrange the beads, this took a few attempts, but I decided on the arrangement below.

I'm pleased with how it turned out and can't wait to put it up in their room. I spent less then £20 on all of the items I needed and have some spray paint and loads of beads left over for another project :)
