I thought I would share a quick make with you all. I had some fabrics lying around and wanted to make a Patchwork baby blanket for my youngest daughter. I wanted something lightweight that i could use when out and about, but at the same time wanted something warm. I decided to do a patchwork quilt that was backed with a minky fleece lining to make it nice and snugly.

I felt it was lacking something at this stage, and decided to add a crochet border. I had some 4ply cotton that I brought and hadn't done anything with, so I set to work.
I started by using a large needle and sewing a blanket stitch around the outside of the blanket, making each stitch about and inch apart. Once i had completed this, I ran a round of dc, placing 4 dc in each stitch space and 3 dc into the corners.
After this round I joined with a ss, then dc, skip 2 dc, 5 tr, skip 2 dc, repeat until corners. 3 tr into corners.

I have done a few of these blankets, they make fab baby shower gifts :)

So my past few weeks have been spent perfecting these little beauties! Inspired by my daughters love of Despicable Me, I felt they needed to be done. That also led to friends putting in their requests. Its Kept me busy!
